Seniors: St. Louis

This the 2nd post in our series honoring seniors who have seen their season come to a close

Kristin Nicoletti
Kristin Nicoletti: the fastest player in St. Louis history and one of the fastest player in conference history, Nicoletti consistently performed at a high level for the Billikens. Nicoletti was the epitome of John Conway softball, as she could fly and Conway always gave her the greenlight. Nicoletti flourished under Conway increasing her steal total in each of her seasons under him going from 34 steals to 37 before stealing a whopping 40 bases in 2010 and all three of those totals are A10 records. This year St. Louis transitioned to a more traditional style of play under 1st year head coach Christy Connoyer, but Nicoletti has continued to be an outstanding table setter for her offense. While Nicoletti was primarily used slapping to reach base she was also deceptively powerful despite her small frame. Nicoletti went deep a few times in her career and she really made opposing defenses think about their positioning. Number 7 was a special player on and off the field and it would not surprise me if she has her jersey number retired at St. Louis. In her career, Nicoletti was named to the Atlantic 10 All Conference Second team, the Atlantic 10 All Conference First team, and to the NFCA region second team. Nicoletti has always been a pleasure to watch and it is going to be weird seeing the Billikens without her at the top of the order. Nicoletti was St. Louis softball and it will be interesting to see how the makeup of the squad changes in the coming years.

Caitlin Trevillyan
Caitlin Trevillyan: has been a steady contributer to St. Louis over the course of her career and Trevillyan has had a powerful bat and has shown that she has some speed as well. Trevillyan started her career off with a bang hitting .268 as a freshman, while being named to the Atlantic 10 All Rookie team. In her freshman season, Trevillyan really showed off her wheels by picking up 12 steals on the year. Although Trevillyan hit a little sophomore slump, she still found a way to contribute to the team by leading the squad in sacrifices. In her junior season, Trevillyan really broke out in her junior season, hitting .290, but she really unleashed in her power by hitting 7 HR with 21 RBI. In addition, Trevillyan also found herself in the NCAA Rankings finishing tied for 44th in HBP, which shows that she was willing to take one for the team. Trevillyan has done a little bit of everything in her career and she has really been a reliable performer for the Billikens. Former Coach John Conway loved her athletic ability and she showed off that athleticism with her power and speed throughout the course of her career. Trevillyan didn't have the perfect senior season, but she was able to close her career on a high note by singling and scoring in her final game as a member of the Billikens. The Billikens will miss her steady performances and they will remember her career day against Rhode Island in 2010, which saw her hit 3 HR in a doubleheader with 6 RBI and she scored 4 runs on the day as well. Trevillyan is a name that will always be associated with Billiken softball and it is sad to see her graduate.

  1. Trevillyan tore her ACL March 6 against Missouri State. Did not get much playing time after that.
