  1. Sara Plourde looked great today early against Fresno State. We also watched her against Texas and she looked very strong against the Longhorns too. During the game against the Bulldogs, she had them completely off-balance the first time thru the lineup. The home plate umpire didn't really do either Fresno State or UMass any favors and the strike zone kept getting squeezed.

Nearly everyone who saw UMass today was unanimous in thinking the team is way better than its record. They looked better than a lot of teams that were winning in Palm Springs this weekend. The schedule has been ridiculously tough so far. Good luck the rest of the way!

  2. Umass has played a tough schedule but sooner or later you have to beat one of those ranked teams to be taken seriously. Getting waxed by Washington and Michigan doesn't help. Having them and Fordham beating ranked teamsis good for the A10 and hopefully Umass will knock off a top 25 team in the next couple or weeks before A10 starts.

  3. For one UMass was not "waxed" by Michigan. The Minutewomen lost 3-0 and 5-1

But I do agree with you about beating some of those tough teams. A tough schedule is about what you make of it (ala UMass in 2009 with Brandice)

UMass doesn't have a signature win yet, but they also haven't had a bad loss. I'm not sure any other team has played a higher percentage of games against ranked opponents

  4. You are right they weren't waxed. I am sure that by the time Umass and Fordham hook up they both will be playing good ball. I root for Umass when they go out of conference.
