St. Louis' pitching was stellar as Kelcie Matesa and Hannah Huebbe combined on a 3-hitter and allowed just 11 SO. The offense was led by Rachel Faletto who was 2-3 with the lone RBI in the game. Kerri Dockins also had a solid game picking up two hits, but the other seven players were only able to combine for one hit. The Billikens may have struggled at the plate, but in the end they took care of business.
There weren't many positives for URI on opening day, I guess one would be Sam Bedore's debut in the circle. Bedore had a rough time in the 1st game, but she bounced back in the 2nd game to toss a scoreless inning. One of the positives on the day, I guess, was that the Rams only committed two errors on the day.
I am expecting Day 2 to go a lot better, both Charlotte and Fordham will kickoff their seasons today.
