Fordham picked up its first verbal from a 2014 recruit, as Amy Van Hoven of the TC Tremors has verballed to Coach Bridget Orchard and the Rams.
Van Hoven is a talented lefthanded hitting shortstop and she is a great pick up for the Rams. Van Hoven is an extremely versatile player who could either end up at shortstop or a number of other positions for the Rams. She can do a number of different things at the plate including slapping and hitting away. She has a beautiful swing from the left side of the plate, which reminds us of former UMass All-Atlantic 10 performer Whitney Williams.
Van Hoven is the latest TC Tremors player to commit to Fordham, following in the footsteps of current catcher Gabby Luety.
It is very important for schools to pick up the best players, but especially those in their state or regions. The A10 must protect its turf and Fordham has done an excellent job of doing this.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations Amy. You should be very proud. I have watched you over the years and know how hard you work. You are the hardest working softball player I have seen in a long, long time and always doing it with a huge smile on your face. You can tell you were born to be on a field. Fordham has picked up a great player and I look forward to watching you for the next seven years. You already are something special and you are only going to get better and better. Keep working hard and Good Luck.
