2012 Atlantic 10 Preview

Here is the main event: our picks for the 2012 season

1. Fordham
2. UMass
3. St. Joseph's
4. Temple
5. St. Louis
6. Dayton
7. Charlotte
8. George Washington
9. St. Bonaventure
10. Rhode Island
11. La Salle

We predict that the top 3 will be a very close battle and 5-9 will also be determined by a razor thin margin, most likely coming down to the final weekend of play. Those 5-9 teams are so incredibly close in terms of talent that it will really come down to who performs.

If you feel you're team's too low, you can comment on it or tweet @A10Softballblog, but make sure it is backed up by the play on the field. Show up to every game and bring it.

  2. Hopefully these are merely predictions since the season hasn't even started yet!

    1. Yes, these are just predictions. This post ties together all of the preview posts that we have done leading up to it.

    2. Are these anonymous posters upset over the prediction of which teams will be placing high this season, such as SJU? They have come in 2nd place at the tourney two out of the last three years. The hope to do well just like every other team. Or are they concerned with the player of the year prediction. If that is the case, it is a lot of pressure for the players to strive for this title all season. There is no need for this overly competitive drama. Good luck to all.

  3. Your Crystal Ball is screwed up or is it an Ouija board this year?

None the less there is definitely a St. Joseph tie here.

  4. This forum is named wrong!!!
It should read St. Joseph's fan club.

Well, no real insight here, just a love of St. Joseph.

  5. You could not be further off my friend.

Where is this St. Joe's bias you speak of? There is reasoning and justification behind every pick.

  6. They are pre-season, they give people something to talk about, while waiting for the games to start. Why do people get so defensive? Isn't it great to just have a place dedicated to discuss the A-10 teams?

Personally, my least favorite thing on this blog is the voting polls. The lengths some people will go to to insure a win is ridiculous. There are only 50 or so votes total in the current poll. Unlike when there are players involved when the voting goes into the 100's. The difference in total votes is enormous, I wonder why? There is no need for those polls if people are going to manipulate them.

When the season gets going, the blog will transition into the game results and teams will move up and down all season in rankings.
