Fordham assistant softball coach Emily Friedman has retired from the NPF. Friedman was a standout at California during her college days before moving on to play pro ball for the Chicago Bandits in the NPF. Friedman played five seasons in the NPF and her final season was her best, as she hit .304 with 6 HR and 19 RBI. Friedman has done a great job with the Fordham program and she has also been fun to watch on the field.
After sitting out the final few months of the season with a lacerated liver, 2010 Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Year Katie Bettencourt will also play for the Brakettes this summer when she returns to the field. It will be great to see her make a return to the field.
St. Bonaventure's outstanding freshmen Ashley Snider and Jen Sansano will be playing for La Nova this summer. La Nova's roster is littered with talent from the four local schools in the Buffalo area.
Teea Rogers and Samantha Gray of UMass will be playing summer ball for NWS Elite. Rogers and Gray are two of four Division 1 players on the roster and they will probably see some significant playing time this summer.
Amy Gleason of Rhode Island will be playing for the New England Shock this summer, it was Gleason's travel team in high school and they have decided to add a 23U team this year.
