Sara Plourde and Jen Mineau have been named NFCA All Americans

The NFCA announced its All American teams today and for the second consecutive year, Sara Plourde and Jen Mineau were named All American, as both were named to the 3rd team. Plourde and Mineau have been absolutely dominating over the past two years and it is nice to see that the nation is taking notice.

The most impressive thing about Plourde and Mineau is 2011 is that they were both battling injuries coming into the year. Plourde was dealing with a stress fracture in her hip that she sustained at the end of last year, while Mineau was dealing with a stress fracture in her plant foot. Both pitchers had great seasons, but you could tell that the injuries did impact their performance. However as the season went on both really rounded into form and they put their teams their back. The scary thing about that is that in 2012 they could be downright dominant in the circle.
