Athlete Spotlight: Mary Pat Conville

Mary Pat Conville was one of the best players in La Salle softball history and one of the most underrated players in the Atlantic 10 during her career. Conville could do it all on the field and she was La Salle softball. She could have been starting at any number of schools, but she brought her talents to La Salle. Conville never advanced to the Atlantic 10 Championship with La Salle, but she did set an outstanding example for all future Explorers moving forward. Conville was the true embodiment of a student athlete and it is wonderful that she is able to extend her collegiate career as a rower for the La Salle crew team.

Conville had exhausted all of her softball eligibility, but she still had one year of NCAA eligibility left in another sport and she has been able to use that eligibility while rowing for La Salle. This is an outstanding NCAA rule and it would be great to see more athletes take advantage of it moving forward.

I do have a feeling though, that Conville is not quite done with La Salle softball. She is and always will be a softball player and who knows maybe a future coach in the Atlantic 10?

Here is her story on La Salle's website in her own words  Mary Pat Conville
