Blackburn is an outstanding athlete who will have an impact both in the circle and at the plate. Blackburn will give the 49ers a weapon that very few A10 teams have: a lefthanded pitcher. Coach Aimee DeVos will count on Blackburn to shut down A10 lineups littered with lefthanded hitters.
Blackburn is the second Cardinals player to commit to the 49ers, as Courtney Carroll just signed her NLI to attend Charlotte.
Blackburn also joins the small, but exclusive club of lefthanded pitchers in the Atlantic 10, which includes Alysha Isaacson of Dayton and Chelsey Pedley of George Washington.
